Audrey Jackson-Graham Memorial Fund
Honoring a Beloved Grandmother by Supporting LPN Students
The Audrey Jackson-Graham Memorial Scholarship Fund was created in memory of a dedicated and much-beloved nursing professional.
According to Jennifer Partyka, Audrey’s granddaughter, “the family wanted to support an LPN student in the name of our adorable ‘Granny.’”
Audrey was born in Alabama and came to Northeast Pennsylvania as a war bride. She was a “practical nurse” who worked in her community while raising six children and eleven grandchildren. She never lost her southern drawl and would break out into song and dance any time the opportunity presented itself.
“She believed each of us was the best person she ever met,” Jennifer added, “even if the evidence did not support it at that very moment (!) and she will forever be one of our favorite people.”
Two of Audrey’s daughters were nurses and four of her granddaughters work in healthcare (two are RNs). By establishing this fund, her family sought to honor Audrey’s memory by showing their support for LPN students.
Jennifer added that Audrey’s family thanks LPN students for their dedication to patients and for the work they will go on to do.
